Allerthorpe School Celebrates Festive Season with Christmas Dinner

Allerthorpe Special Educational Needs School marked the festive season with a special Christmas dinner on 17th December, bringing learners and staff together to celebrate in a warm and inclusive way.

The Christmas dinner provided a wonderful opportunity for learners to enjoy a traditional festive meal alongside their peers, supporting social interaction, shared experiences and a sense of community. The occasion was carefully planned to ensure the environment remained calm, welcoming and accessible for all learners, allowing everyone to take part comfortably and confidently.

Celebrating seasonal events such as Christmas is an important part of school life at Allerthorpe, helping learners build positive memories, develop social skills and feel included in shared traditions.

Sarah Grove, Principal of Allerthorpe Special Educational Needs School, said:

“Our Christmas dinner was a lovely way for learners and staff to come together and celebrate the end of term. Moments like these are about more than the meal itself, they’re about connection, enjoyment and creating happy experiences that our learners can feel proud to be part of.”

The festive celebration reflects Allerthorpe’s commitment to nurturing wellbeing, inclusion and community through meaningful, thoughtfully planned experiences.
