Melrose Education Schools Connect with the Community at Local Event

Melrose Education Schools were proud to be represented in the local community on Saturday 7th March, as Allerthorpe School showcased its provision and engaged with families and professionals at a community event.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of both Allerthorpe School and Meadow School (a new Melrose School planned for opening in 2026), highlighting the breadth of support, personalised learning and specialist environments available to learners across Melrose Education.

Throughout the day, Sarah Grove, Principal at Allerthorpe School and Melrose Education’s representative for the day, spoke with members of the public about the schools’ approaches to supporting learners with special educational needs and additional needs, sharing insights into the tailored experiences, nurturing environments and outcomes-focused education that define Melrose schools.

Events such as this play a key role in strengthening community connections, helping families better understand the support available to them, and ensuring that more learners can access the provision that best meets their needs.

Sarah Grove, Principal of Allerthorpe School, said:

“It was a fantastic opportunity to be part of the local community event and to share what we offer at Allerthorpe School and Meadow School. Speaking directly with families and professionals allows us to build meaningful connections and ensure that more people are aware of the support available for learners who may benefit from a specialist setting.”

Tracey Storey, Founder, CEO and Executive Chair of Melrose Education, added:

“Engaging with our communities is an essential part of what we do at Melrose Education. Events like this allow us to showcase the incredible work happening across our schools and to reach families who may be looking for the right environment for their young person. We are committed to ensuring that every learner has access to an education that enables them to thrive.”
